As well as carrying all the natural characteristics, the shaped egg’s artificial shell acts exactly like the natural shell at all stages like boiling, etc. This new shell can be produced with all the desired shapes and thicknesses. Is is produced with application of a special chemical. The product has the following European certificates:
Standard: EN71 Part 3: 1994 and following 88/378/EC norms.
The shaped, new hard shell form is shaped in an automated system beforehand. The natural raw egg outer hard shell is removed and the egg with only the inner thin membrane is placed into its new, shaped outer hard shell.
The natural outer hard shell can only be 0,35 mm thick but the new shaped hard shell is chosen to be 0,70 mm thick in order to have some resistance to break up. The time to spoil is the same with natural egg. During boiling, the new shell has the exact same characteristics with the natural shell. There is no effect to create difference in the taste of the egg. With the appropriate food colourings, the new outer shell can be painted with different colours and designs.

The importance of the egg in the Christian culture is obvious. Easter is very important. Such varied shaped eggs, cubic eggs, eggs shaped like the Easter rabbit, etc. can easily find a very good market in Christian countries. The target group will not only be the children but also the adults. For example a heart shaped egg will easily find a good market during the St. Valentine’s Day. The indicators show that the potential market will be a big, varied and continuously growing one.
The biggest advantage of the innovation is possibly to be the only one of its kind. The shaped eggs can easily be the centre of interest and the difficulties to make children eat eggs regularly will easily be overcome. The egg’s humorous nature and its unnatural characteristics are also some innovative sides of an artificially shaped egg that is expected to create big interest by the consumers and the market.
