    The Enterprise Europe Network helps companies source EU funding and project partners for lifesaving research. Swedish firm Biovica and British company Sentinel Oncology linked up through the Network to develop a potential treatment for a rare blood cancer, acute myleloid leukaemia. The partnership has received more than €500,000 in funding from the EU’s Eurostars programme.

Growth-oriented business support services will be provided via the Enterprise Europe Network to facilitate business expansion in the Single Market. This programme will also provide SME business support outside the EU.

    The Enterprise Europe Network helps companies give old products new life. Polish tyre firm Orzeł SA was sending its used stock to be burnt in cement factories. Looking for a greener and cheaper solution, it turned to its local Network branch. Matched up with Vienna-based tyre recycling experts WIL, the company is now setting up a recycling line on its premises. The resulting rubber parts will be sold by WIL throughout Europe.

    Thanks to the Enterprise Europe Network, man's best friend is in safe hands. The Network has helped one of the first food allergy tests for dogs get to market. Developed by Italian research group Nutrigene, the low-cost saliva diagnostic kits have been marketed thanks to a partnership with German company DTS.

    Dutch company Griffid and Swedish firm Embsec have signed a cooperation agreement this week at the Residence of the Swedish ambassador in The Hague. Enterprise Europe Network member Syntens helped the companies to link up at a Network-organised meeting during INFOPOL trade fair in Belgium.

    The Enterprise Europe Network helps companies put the smart into smartphones. Fortumo, an Estonian SME supplying payment systems for smartphones, used the Network to team up with Portuguese firm NVIA, which provides premium SMS services in 14 countries. The match enabled Fortumo to expand its business into Latin America.
